Many individuals dream of working on cruise ships or shifting to a more purposeful career but don’t know where to begin. BlueChef Global Academy (BGA) was established to solve this challenge. Through career-focused programs, hands-on training, and real-world guidance, BGA prepares students to launch successful careers in the cruise industry. With a growing number of graduates now working onboard international cruise lines, BGA continues to open doors for those ready to take their future to sea.
In 2013, Freddie D. Cinco, a legendary chef from Butuan City, revolutionized the culinary scene by opening BGA, a catering service, restaurant, and popular bar in Butuan – The Booze Bar. One of his customers was blown away by his exceptional cooking skills and encouraged him to take his talents to the high seas. Cinco’s curiosity was piqued, and he began researching the cruise line industry, fascinated by the opportunity to share his passion with others. His discovery that most kitchen staff were from Manila sparked a question: “Why must Bisaya individuals seeking employment in the cruise line industry travel to Manila only to return home empty-handed?” This epiphany gave birth to an innovative idea: “Why not provide affordable and hassle-free training that would guarantee employment on cruise ships?” And so, BLUECHEF TRAINING CENTER was born.
Through meticulous research and investigation, Cinco uncovered the essential qualifications needed to succeed in the industry and launched the training program with an initial cohort of 5 students – his relatives, employees, and friends who shared his enthusiasm. Miraculously, all 5 students aced their interviews and secured jobs on cruise ships! News of their success spread like wildfire, prompting family members and friends of the initial batch to join the program. This marked the beginning of BTCA’s phenomenal growth and the establishment of CCTP, a program that has empowered countless individuals to chart their own course in the culinary world.
